Health Interventions

Zumar Foundation’s health projects in Uganda focus on several key areas:

Improving Access to Healthcare

Many vulnerable communities lack access to basic healthcare services. The foundation sets up medical clinics or mobile health units in these areas to provide primary healthcare services, including check-ups, vaccinations, and basic treatments.

Maternal and Child Health

Maternal and child health is a major concern in Uganda. The foundation supports initiatives that focus on prenatal and postnatal care, safe deliveries, and newborn care. This involves training and equipping healthcare workers, establishing maternity wards, and providing essential maternal and child health supplies.

Disease Prevention and Control

Uganda faces various health challenges, including infectious diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis. The foundation supports initiatives aimed at preventing and controlling these diseases, such as distributing mosquito nets, providing antiretroviral therapy, and promoting awareness and education about preventive measures.

Health Education and Awareness

Lack of health education contributes to poor health outcomes. The foundation supports initiatives that promote health education and awareness campaigns, focusing on topics such as nutrition, family planning, disease prevention, and reproductive health.

Mental Health Support

Mental health is often overlooked in low-resource settings. The foundation collaborates with local organizations to provide mental health services, including counseling and therapy, to vulnerable communities.
